Hello ladies and gents!
Apologies for the serious delay in my blog updates, I've had a few emails from you guys with "hurry up and write a new one!!" So I listened....but please blame moving and lack of interesting jobs...seriously.
Factuals.... very interesting, in fact I love it! I've had the pleasure of going out on a few sit in and interviews and even asked questions and gathered some interesting information, and wow do I love hearing the stories, they range from I did nothing to the the other parties going "the dude is a douche" haha. Best part is, everyone lies. I get to use my trained eye of watching facial expressions and their "ticks" and it's like going through a trash can and finding the pieces that matter. I can't wait to start going out there and doing it solo, and oh gosh does my learning in the law and criminology come in handy!! Talk about the balance of probabilities!! Lawyers are loving me ;)
So anyway, a lot of goss about this industry has surfaced (I know what else is knew) and a lot of companies are now wanting their subbies to have a Pty Ltd set up so it's OFFICIAL I'm making my own company!! It's really only so I can get a more variety of work but I can also get a lot more private jobs, which is so great! It's quite exciting! Once the website is up I'll add the link here so you can check it out. I've recently had interviews with two companies who are new in NSW and am actually quite excited to be potentially involved with them.
So anyway I came across an add the other day that I can't quite wrap my head around;
-Wanted subbies.... ok yup check
-Pty Ltd set up .... ok uhuh getting on that
- Own insurance ... well that's a given
- Own WorkCover ..... huh??
Ok so you are your own subcontractor, for your own company, so you get WorkCover, and from my understanding the insurer and the employer make contributions... so ok let's think about this, you are your own company, you employ yourself, you get injured....if you're injured and need workers comp technically wouldn't you have to keep working to support your inured self that needs workers comp?? I had to laugh also wonder what would happen if WorkCover went to an investigation company wanting surveillance on a compo situation where the worker is an investigator :/ be quite odd right??
It's actually quite amusing reading some job ads, I've found some with "Wanted Secretary, ... must be proficient in egnish and have grate writing skills" and you can't help but laugh and think gosh is it the position of the person that wrote the add that they want to fill?
On a side note, something completely off the track of investigation, I am quite concerned with the intelligence level on the youth of Australia... the other night, a school night I might add, my partner received a lot of prank phone calls. The calls lasted only a few seconds, you'd here a laugh or silence and then they'd hang up. Once or twice you heard a voice, which was female and on the one time my partner asked who it was he got the reply "oh I'm just dialling a bunch of random numbers".
So it's cool, kids do prank phone calls, I remember back in the day (like 10 years ago haha) I would do my own in high school... BUT... I wasn't so stupid cos I remembered to put my number on private!! So my partner gives me the number and of course just out of curiosity I did my searches and then this happened...
*phone rings*
My partner; "Hello"
Caller; giggles.
My partner; "Who is this??"
Caller; more laughing
My partner; "Why do you keep calling me"
Caller; laughter "oh we are just calling random numbers" ... more laughter
My partner; "oh ok yeh that's cool but why do you keep calling mine if they are random?"
Caller; more giggles...
My partner; "I know where you live"
Caller; (stops giggling) "no you don't"
My partner; You live in Queensland.
Caller; silence.
My partner; "You live in Nerang"
Caller; "how do you know that, you don't know where I live"
My partner; 'gives address, and associated numbers to the address'
Caller; "how do you know that?" (now actually scared)
My partner; "Well you've called a private investigator"
Caller; "oh"
My partner; Yeh and you forgot to put your number on private so you're an idiot.
Caller; "oh, oh yeh, f**k... please don't tell my parents"
LOL was actually quite funny. I guess that's what teenagers today would say YOLO to right??
hehe until next time...

Messy....just plan ol' messy
SO on my head stone I'd like it to read "this chick went ABOVE and BEYOND the normalcy of what a PI does". Seriously. Never in my entire career have I ever had a client WHO really isn't even my client call, email or text me SO MUCH! When he asked if I had a man in my life I pretty much drew the line . . . but seriously OMG don't go down the road of hiring me to watch over your best mates cheating wife if you aren't prepared for the SHIT STORM and the end of it! And I may be a law student but I am not a lawyer so when I say seek legal advice....you pretty much should do it. ESPECIALLY after you ask me to alter my evidence!
Speaking of illegal things . . . as a person who is seeking private surveillance you need to ask the correct questions and go with your gut instinct, especially if you have no idea what the Privacy Act is . . . ok I don't normally bag on my employers BUT when you tell the client that it's perfectly O.K. for me to trespass and capture footage of people having sex through their curtains and then said client is on my bloody back to do this act and the fact that said place where people are committing this adultery has a seriously long dirt driveway in the middle of bloody nowhere and has a DOG that runs after you and barks as soon as you step on said driveway I pretty much step in and go "nup" "not doing it" "don't exactly wanna lose my licence" IF YOU THINK THIS SHIT IS GOING TO END UP IN COURT do your BLOODY RESEARCH! If it sounds pretty shifty then it probs is. I felt pretty bad for this client, so I gave him the proper way of doing things and the legal limitations, he wasn't happy... BUT I found out that my so called employer TRIPLES my km's and driving/surveillance hours and charges the client! BUT tells me "oh my client won't pay for that many km's/hours we are going to have to shorten them" WTF! I am so seriously considering starting my own business instead of just being a contractor; I have a few mates in the industry keen as well, so I am pretty serious about it. Honest Investigations...has a ring to it wouldn't you say?
This whole job was pretty poorly organised as well, AND oh the one night they actually went out for dinner they of course went into the busiest Thai restaurant in this tiny town and were placed in the rear left corner of said restaurant with a large group of loud students seated in front of them, my camera hated me. It wanted filming action, but couldn't get any. Sadness. The client even placed a GPS on the females vehicle hoping I'd be able to follow her all the time, turns out they used his car for everything, but just so everyone out there knows using a GPS tracker is VERY illegal . . . don't do it, read up on your legislation, it's fine in some circumstances but not all.
I was heaps excited for that job, turns out it was one great big mess!
In other news, I'm looking into factual investigations and process serving, figured it would suit better to my degree, plus it'd make me multi skilled . . . I shall become the female James Bond haha. Oh if only. No seriously, think I'll start learning some martial arts and become a ninja . . . more so than I am now haha.
So if anyone out there is doing factual or process serving, contact me via email message etc, be great to hear from you with all the pro's and con's etc, also if you want to jump on the band wagon of running a legit investigation business be great to hear from you. I want honest people, they are hard to come by, BUT they are out there!

Insert cool BLOG title here"__________"
It's getting COLD!!!!!
You know your life is EXTREMELY exciting when you start cheering about the cooler weather because you can have easy going surveillance times! Boo ya! I'm legit actually wearing a jumper right now that's nice and snugly and warm! Thank you UNE! Did I mention that it's pink?
Any who... have you ever had one of those jobs that just never seems to END!! I mean don't get me wrong, I love working and I love the fact that I have plenty of hours but I mean c'mon a lil change up would be fantastic....however having said that, this one did get interesting. So this obs I'm on, have been doing it for a while now and seriously thought this guy was boring and then . . . BAM body builder competitions! SO I've come to the conclusion that after a day of spending my time walking around and waiting for my subject to come to the stage... (which he didn't!!....but my gut instinct tells me he'll be competing tomorrow) I'm like pro and the whole body building thing...being muscular is great but then there is over kill...when I'm staring at your neck and it's not fat rolls but lumps of muscle with a mad vein like popping out and I can see it like moving....well man that is just a mad how bout you STOP! Don't get me wrong, being healthy is fantastic but man o man.... veins...ugh! Also I noticed that exercise freaks (well the ones at this expo anyway) have no internal compass... everyone seemed to be walking around and stopping and bumping into everyone, and I was just standing there watching thinking to myself, do I bump into people to "blend in" or just continue to stand here....I chose the stand here option as I'm fair sure with my luck I'd just knock myself unconscious on someone's elbow.
I'm hoping tomorrow will be fun, and I'm crossing my fingers that my subject competes cos it will be the first time any subject of mine has specifially chosen to stand half naked in front of a mad cheering crowd...PSYCH YOUR WAY OUT OF THAT ONE! Having said that, it begs the question of the intelligence level of the case managers....so we have a person who is scared to go outside but openly tells you that he is competing in body building....do people actually listen? Or do they just go "oh yeh hang on that's right, you're fraudulent as f**k better get some surveillance". Meh I'm cheering.
Conducting obs for a "new" company and a "new" client next week, crossing my fingers all goes well so I can count on future work and hopefully make my mate look bad ass in the surveillance industry.
SO question to all the Aussie investigators out there.... Is there much work out in Armidale/Tamworth NSW... I ask this because I only just came back from my intensive school at uni and I AM IN LOVE with the actual town! It is gorgeous! Plus I met some really cool uni students and be awesome to get to know them better, and after speaking to a lot of other students it would appear to be VERY beneficial to do at least a trimester on campus... live the whole uni life thing... SO if you are an Aussie and have some intel...please contact me, it would be very much appreciated.
Anyway, I'm going to leave it here and relax in this awesome hotel room do my field notes and chillax before day two of muscular-men-a-mania....
More to come!

First blog for 2013!
Bit late to say welcome to 2013 BUT instead I'll say that I hope 2013 is very fun and interesting for my fellow investigators out there!
Well I don't know about anyone else but 2013 was off to a slow start, and now BAM! It's like everyone wants a piece of this lil investigator! So far it's been going good....except;.....
Have you ever just wanted to track down some of your clients and hit their head into their desk! OMG don't get me wrong, I respect them for giving me work, but, sometimes they are useless! USELESS! So you call them and inquire about a few details and they have no idea what you are talking about! For example;
Me; So far I haven't observed any activity would you like me to assist and try again on the weekend, he may do some gardening..
Client: Good idea, maybe you'll get him taking the kids to school.
Me; He doesn't have any kids.
Client; He may even take the kids out...
Me; He's 65 years of age and he doesn't have kids...
Client; Ok well lets kick things off again early next week, check the local schools....
WTF!! Seriously! USELESS!!
At the moment I'm doing a job that I have done twice before, and both times I didn't observe him doing what the clients suspects he is, and I have been given a new address, so I've found him again at this new address BUT my client now instructs me to cover his old house as it may be his business location....IT'S A HOUSE WITH CHILDREN LIVING IN IT!! And you can't tell her! It's frustrating! They think I'm superwoman and I'm going to get absolutely everything they want and they'll be really active....which is great when they are but you're a "very bad" investigator when they don't, but it's hard to achieve their goals when they give you set hours and are so sure of themselves. Gah!
In other news, have you ever been following someone in traffic and you're behind the wheel acting all cool, and you start to observe something odd about the person you are following and in your brain pops the "whaaattt the fffff****#####kkkk are you doing?"
I was following a cheating spouse last weekend and this guy was driving in the wrong lane into ON COMING TRAFFIC! Just to turn left into a side street! I lost him, obviously, cos I wasn't going to that crazy shit and almost kill myself! But I called my client and she didn't seem to bothered after I told her she said "oh yeh don't worry he does that all the time"....I ended up finding him and was even more mortified when I observed him pulling out his baby out of the back! Some people are just seriously crazy!
I'm contemplating also doing skip tracing, so would really appreciate it if any investigators could hit me up with a "how to" and show me the rope, be great to do during the down times, plus I love trying to find people.
Hope you are all doing well and like me are counting down the days to winter and cosy days in the car!

Don't worry every investigator will face this......
WELCOME TO OCTOBER BOYS AND GIRLS!!!
Like always....it's been a while :( sorry lovelies, my move up the coast has taken up plenty time and proved to be a lot of work! Lots of fun exciting stuff has been happening along with the worst feeling an investigator could ever have....my first ever compromise!!!!
Now I won't lie to you lovely people but I still consider myself a newbie, I've been in this field for only a short 18 months, so I don't make my self to be the best out there as I am still learning everyday (believe me, rural surveillance keeps you on your toes) however I took some pride in the fact that unlike other newbies, I had never been compromised, or caught out by the person I was following.
WELL that all changed about a month ago!
I had been given a case that had been handed around previously and other investigators had been compromised or had interaction with him and or didn't get that specific thing that the client wanted. So I got it. Thinking back now I wish I had of turned it down, being compromised really rocked my confidence in doing my job.
To give you an idea of what this guy I was following was, well I can indulge that he was an ex-cop, medium build, Caucasian nearly 40 years old, and a really dodgy C-U-Next-Tuesday!!!! With conversations to my client I was informed that there may be other companies with surveillance on him, so this guy was pretty surveillance aware!!
So I did the whole, "ok cool" look back on my training and rural surveillance 101 I was taught to NEVER SIT IN THEIR STREET! Blend in with the town and sit in the main strip or in the road that leads out of the town. Hence this is what I did. It didn't work.
I moved closer and still nothing. One day I actually did sit in his street and I followed him until I ended up doing a front follow and he made a right at a round about! By the time I managed to double back he was well gone and I was furious and yelling at my steering wheel! (My poor car must think I hate it lol). So I got a 2nd investigator on the job, first few days in proved nothing again and by now I'm seriously thinking like WTF....
So you know when you're having one of those days and you couldn't sleep the night before, and you find that your dog has chewed through yet another shoe when your about to put it on, and then you spill the coffee over the counter and think f**k it I'll just go to work...Yeah I really should have stayed home.
I caught up with the second investigator and we both agreed that we would sit on the nearest main strip each at a different end and cross our fingers. I make sure that I am nestled between two other cars so that mine isn't a focus point if he comes out my way....So 6 am rolls by and I'm watching people walk their dogs, jog along the road and water their gardens....0642 rolls along and lo and behold here he comes. So I act normal since he is going to go over the top of me so I call the other investigator and start chatting whilst perusing through my purse. So I'm doing this and watching my mirrors and this guy has started to slow down and I'm thinking "what the hell..." and then he stops. Right next to me!
So naturally I pay him no attention. So he drive off, and my heart starts beating and I swear I can hear it. I watch him as he comes to a T intersection, and continue watching and he conducts a U-turn and drives straight toward me again. By now I'm screaming in my head "I hate you" as I start smiling and telling the investigator exactly what is happening...So he drives toward me and slowly passes me, he does another U-turn and parks behind me right next to the car behind me, and I'm thinking this dude is cutting off the road....so then he drives forward and does the same thing to the car in front of me! By now I'm thinking "please just go, just leave, I don't wanna be here any more" but no he does ANOTHER U-TURN!! I seriously just feel like crying by now, and I can hear the other investigator down the line saying "It's ok I'm on my way, he's just trying to intimidate you" So I watch as he slowly comes to a stop beside me and rolls down the window, turns to look at me and yells "Gotta do better than that next time you f**king b-i-t-c-h!!" and then drives away.
I continue talking to the investigator and giving instructions as to which way he turned and the direction he headed, the investigator passes me and speeds off hoping to catch up with the douche bag. I turn on my ignition and I just went straight home.
I was hoping the other investigator would have had some luck but unfortunately he didn't.
I called the office and spoke to my case manager, and he felt sorry for me, but cheered me up by saying that most people get compromised within their first few months, and that the guy was just a general dodgy man. I still have no idea how he just managed to pick me out. What really iced the cake was when I called the client and told him the whole story. Apparently the douche bag got in before me, and called the client and informed him to cease surveillance OR ELSE. This douche bag even lied and said that I had my camera out and was taking pictures of his kid!! And I laughed with the client cos this guy definitely didnt have his kid in the car, I hadn't even seen his kid before and who the hell uses a still shot camera these days for surveillance?! Hello you just take photos from your video you obtain and I sure as hell did not film him in this instance. I'm not that stupid with a surveillance aware person! But apparently it was a pleasure to work with me and the client hopes he gets me again.
Given that this douche bag actually lives like 3 streets away from me I am still so tempted to just rock up one night and egg his place, the guy is clearly working and clearly has something to hide so I hope that one day he really gets what is coming to him. It's people like him that are like the poster boys to the lying fraudulent people on workcover and makes it harder for the seriously legit people out there!
Since then I haven't had another compromise and I'm setting a goal of breaking the 18 months before the next one.
In other news I can finally sub-contract!! I'm even considering starting my own PI set up, so if anyone out there has any stories and info they wanna share on starting their on PI business please please contact me! I'd love as much info as I can get before I launch anything.
Hope you are all well and enjoying the warmer and remember to take extra fluids when on the job!!

The Lucky Thirteenth one!
Hey boys and girls!
Well! I must say...it's been a while! Apologies for that, I don't know about any other investigators out there BUT I have been run off of my feet! It is as if the surveillance world has just burst open and all these new cases are piling out! It's crazy! But can't complain, more work means more money for the majority of us out there, or well that's as the saying goes.
Hope you have all been well! Winter is upon us (Here in Australia anyway) and I don't know about you guys but I definitely have bought a blanket into my car, helps keep warm on those really early mornings! Especially when you can't run your motor for the heater to keep warm as it would give away your whole vantage point.
With working A LOT these past few weeks I definitely have gained some interesting stories...I've rescued cats from getting run over, taken lost dogs to a vet, watched the front end of a prestigious car get taken away by a truck at a set of traffic lights, and watched a man who is currently unfit walk along whistling swinging around his walking stick..but I had a situation that I will never ever forget.
I had been given yet another medical to cover in the CBD (I am pretty sure I am now the "go-to-girl" when it comes to medicals) and I did everything to a Tee! Followed the guy there, got him going in, and followed him all the way back to the train station, and updated the client who told me to cease for the day and go home and get out of the rain. Well during this day I had a dear friend staying in the CBD, and I had organised to catch up before she left the next day. So I called and called and called, actually started to get worried and called her son, one of my best friends, and got him to try. After an hour of no luck I gave up and figured I'd take up the clients idea and get home and out of the rain. So I got my train ticket, took up a seat and sat back, watched a movie on my Ipod and tried to enjoy the hour train ride home. After a stop I observed a man with 2 young girls board the train, they were all carrying really big bags and actually huffed and collapsed on the seats in front of me. After about 5 stops the youngest fell asleep on her luggage, quickly followed by her not much older sister.
I didn't mean to laugh, but for those that haven't seen the movie "Horrible Bosses" download it and check it out! Especially surveillance people, there is a part where they start surveillance, and you'll laugh just as I did. This caught the attention of the Dad and he started talking to me. Just small talk to start off with, but we got full into conversation and he started telling me about his two young blonde blue eyed girls, about how he is a single parent since his wife ran away from him and left him stranded to raise the girls alone for the last 7 years, he told me about his work accident and told me that he had surveillance on him, and he was currently with lawyers and his bosses to come to agreements on the pay out since all the footage supported his claim, he told me about how hard it is being a dad and being judged by the other parents at the school his girls attend. When the girls woke up they told me their ages and they were 8 and 9 years old, and I learnt that they were on a trip from Melbourne and were heading to Sydney to take part in their karate tournament.
By now we were past halfway to my train station, and he was looking at a map and trying to figure out how to get to his hotel from the train station. Just looking out the window made me depressed since it was literally like pouring outside, and one look at the girls trying not to fall back to sleep on their luggage and knowing they had just got off a flight and had to walk to their hotel or catch a cab I felt bad for them, and I don't know why I did it, I have definitely never done it before, but I offered them a lift to their hotel. With many thanks the Dad agreed and took me up on my offer. The youngest daughter, got up and started talking about karate, asking me about how I keep my hair long and telling me all about the mean boys in school, and the eldest laughed and also told me about her school and friends.
After a little while, they got off at my train stop and helped me load my car with all their bags. On the way to their hotel, their Dad insisted on buying me lunch to say thanks, I wasn't particularly hungry, but I knew the girls were just at the way they piped up at the mention of the word "lunch" and I for one wouldn't want them walking in the rain down to the shops from their hotel just for some lunch, so I agreed.
At their hotel you could have sworn that the rain started to fall even harder, and it was a rush of trying not to get wet and getting their luggage inside. Out of no where the youngest daughter hugged me around the waist and looked up and gave me the biggest smile and told me that I was the kindest stranger ever, I think just seeing her smile made the whole helping strangers thing worth it, and then she held my hand as we carried luggage into reception.
On saying goodbye and making sure they were set and had everything both girls gave me hugs, which I thought was pretty cute, but what made my heart feel like it was breaking was when the youngest daughter looked up at me and said the strangest thing ever; "I hope I don't die too soon cos I hope I meet you again". I swear I will never in my life forget that sentence that came out of her mouth. I looked at her father and watched him scrunch up his face, I was shocked but gave her another hug and said goodbye. The girls ran inside to watch the bags whilst their father stayed out and shook my hand to say thanks and informed me that his youngest has cancer.
He said to me, that he may be a single dad and his daughter may have cancer and her mum may not care since she ran away but he is doing whatever it takes to fill his daughters life with memories, experiences and as much normality as he can so that she can get the most out of life just in case it is taken too early from her. He thanked me and said I didn't realise how much it meant to them since help doesn't often come their way, but then bid me goodbye and waved me off.
Never in my life have I ever wanted to cry so much in the presence of a stranger, my heart went out to that little 8 year old girl and her family and I honestly felt like giving them a lift to their hotel to stay out of the rain wasn't enough. But I couldn't think and didn't know what else to do and didn't want to cry in front of the girls or their Dad, so I left them with a big smile and waves.
I'm now glad that my plans didn't work out that day and that I was able to help a family when they needed it, no matter how insignificant that help may seem to me, it was big to them and I honestly hope that little girl lives to a ripe old age. She seemed too full of life to have it be taken away from her.
I guess that this shows me that even though I sit there day in and day out watching people scam the system and lying to a lot of people around them, there are other people out there who honestly are good people. They aren't all bad out there.
I hope that even though with this job we generally automatically distrust and assume the worst in people, others can see that there is some good out there and that sometimes helping a stranger can bring you some happiness and what you may think is a small gesture is significantly large to the person you are helping.
In other news, I'm facing new surroundings as I have moved far away from the CBD and am now conducting surveillance in rural areas, which every surveillance case presents more challenges, and am also learning factual investigations through the company I work for. I figure expanding my knowledge base can't be harmful.
Well boys and girls, I think that's all for now, SO stay safe, rug up and keep warm and maybe if an opportunity presents itself where you can lend a hand, think twice before turning away.

The Twelfth One :)
Well boys and girls...this here is called PROCRASTINATION! This happens when you KNOW you need top do something BUT you really DON'T feel like doing it right now....I am currently procrastinating from listening to hours of online lectures...which it seems it is all ready nearing week 3 and I am all ready behind...this is obviously of course because I work too much! Also hence the reason why a blog has not been posted in a seriously long time...my apologies :)
You're probably thinking..."WTF is this chick on about right now" Well in answer to that I decided that to kill away the boring hours in the car I would take up that time on studying a bachelor degree in Criminology...I love surveillance BUT don't get me wrong, I don't want to spend a majority of my life sitting in a car. Hence the recent idea to study, further my education and also further career prospects! I'm hoping to obtain a good GPA and do a double degree along with law.
This idea mainly started when I worked with "the best of the best" here in Sydney and he advised me to kill stay focused and to use up free time on something like study...he is currently also studying a law degree and he's like 40 I reckon..so goes to show you're never too old!
So work has been VERY busy lately...it seems that not only do I have my normal cases where I get lots of warning and time to finish them but for some reason I am getting hit with ALOT of "urgent" and "last minute" jobs...I'm beginning to think that the case managers in all the different firms out there procrastinate a SugarHoneyIcedTea load and just sitting around in their offices gasbagging with each other and then Friday comes and it's like well I don't very much feel like getting fired so I'll call *insert the company I work for's name here* and they can get onto it! So they do, and at like quarter to five on the last business day of the week I have my case managers calling a literally begging me to take it...seriously am I the only one that gets these phone calls? Or am I like the last resort cos they know that I'll do it?? So I take on the job...half the time NOTHING happens and I sit there thinking "You know if I was on my other job right now, I'd full be doing a vehicle follow" thing is I'm getting a lot of these last minute or urgent jobs which is pushing back cases that I would normally have finished by now! Sucks so bad. But I guess I shouldn't complain, work is work right and I'm still getting paid.
I did follow something interesting the other week...my first ever transvestite! Was epic! And the whole time I was thinking...geeze you had a good surgeon or take the right drugs because man you really look like a dude now! I was seriously in awe! Which made me look at everyone and reconsider their apparent sex. Doing this killed lots of time on the train home. Hmmm haven't had too many interesting cases lately, they've all been pretty boring actually. EXCEPT for conducting surveillance on a crook coppa who goes to show that even the people we are meant to install all our faith and belief that they will protect us from the wrong things are doing all the wrong things themselves! Seriously they aren't better than the average white collar Joe. Was so please I got some great evidence on the person it was like "suck on this bitch" haha!
Well better go back to listening to my lectures! That's all for now boys and girls!

The Eleventh One
Well I don't know about you people BUT I have been extremely busy :)
So remember my last post where I got to be a ninja and was possibly on Asian TV?? WELL I got to do him again! This time I got permission to use a second investigator...the best of the best was given to me. I was actually pretty scared, this meant another oldie to impress.
So well he was late, and we didn't even see the person I had to watch enter the building...so I canvassed the area including the bike parking lot and just my luck his motorbike wasn't even there...so we canvassed the car park attached to the building he was in...not there...finally as a last resort we checked the floor level and we observed him inside. So we came to the conclusion that he drove and he parked his car inside the car park attached to the building. Thus I moved my car inside this car park and the 2nd agent moved theirs to a 5 minute loading zone (he was there for half an hour) after the hour I got the phone call advising what he was wearing and that he was departing, also that he told the rehab provider that he walked from MADEUPSUBURB to the appointment...yeh well he said that last time so pffft. I called the 2nd investigator and he was like ok cool "GET OUT OF YOUR CAR HE's ON FOOT!"
Gosh Darnit!
So I bolt from my car and run down the side street and see the 2nd Investigator pointing in the direction he went and then get back in his car....do you know how hard it is to film whilst running talking on the phone...yeh it doesn't work. So the routine is sprint up the hill-stop-film-sprint across busy traffic-stop film-he stops at an ATM-catch your breath, then film-bolt up another hilly main road-stop-duck-hide-film. I did this for about 6km...(thanks to an Iphone app I know this) followed him all the way to MADEUPSUBURB where he then got into an old crappy vehicle!! The 2nd investigator whistled for me to get in so I ran for the passenger seat before he could reverse and see me. We then followed this tricky (insert mean B word) all around the city, and I mean around the outskirts and then through it and then around it and out again, and then through tunnels around beaches. We went through 5 red lights, the wrong way up a one way, did 80 in a 50 zone, and pretty much cut a lot of people off (apologies if one of those persons was you) we managed to do this until he finally settled into his residence..located here was his bike along with another vehicle.
Would have loved to have stayed and watched him a while but my other investigator had his own work to get on with...which he mentioned A LOT...so I was like hmm well ok so I got dropped off at another adjoining suburb and he departed. I got to catch a ferry back to the city...first time for everything in this gig. Was quite nice actually.
The good thing about working with established investigators is that they have a heck of a lot more contacts that they feel free to give when you ask certain questions so have made some queries and cross fingers something new comes up :)
Helped another investigator today...didn't get to meet him though. I took care of the city stuff and was asked to catch the train back with her. So I did. Pity, he seemed really nice. Hopefully will work with him again.
In other news the weather is perfect right now for surveillance! It's summer and it is raining! How awesome is that! Also if you haven't seen the movie Warhorse...I suggest you do, I know it has nothing related to surveillance but it's a really good movie.
Stay cool!

The Tenth One
If you are sitting at home later today or tonight watching television or even tuning into some news on your laptop and you find yourself watching some Asian television or Asian news show and you find yourself listening intently into what the Asian reporter has to say and you see in the background some random female climbing a fence and then crawling through bushes and disappearing....it'll be me.
I had to cover a rehab appointment in town today for the purposes of getting an ID shot and "housing" him (i.e. following the person to their residence so that we know where this person lives) It was great fun as I got to meet the rehab chick and hear what she had to say which proved interesting as she said that this male was complaining because he had to drive to an area and then catch a train in to where the rehab was. However the client was adamant that this person would drive in since he was making such a fuss about having to find parking and driving so far from a different area not mentioned before. So to sum up, this person in my books is "full dodge". I wanted to use a second investigator, purely because if he did drive then two people can follow, or if he caught public transport then one investigator can go with him on the public transport and the other can drive and meet up at the station this person departed at. However I had to fly solo on this one.
So I rock up as per usual just over an hour before the allotted time, see the rehab provider and then find myself a nice stack out on the main street with the best possible view.
With situations like these, ALWAYS go with your gut instinct. I nabbed this guy straight away, I saw him walk towards rehab place, and away from it and getting his coffee then returning to the rehab place. My gut instinct was proved correct when reception called me and confirmed his attendance and his attire. He was in there for a little over an hour before I got a phone call saying "He's in the lift, and you'll have a long walk ahead of you since he told us that he parked his car in *insert a cool suburb name here". So keeping cool and blending in as best as you can I filmed this person departing and then walking and turning left to walk up a hill, I'm once again glad I trusted my gut instinct and stayed where I was as he kept looking around (so much for a neck injury) and then turned around and walked back the way he came, crossed the road and then right into a mass car park or should I say motorcycle-park. From the road there was no great vantage point so with quick thinking I raced up a ramp that leads away from the area. At the top of this ramp is a great fence, or wall type thing with LOTS of bushes and greenery...I think maybe flowers bloom from these weird green leaves but I'm not a green thumb so wouldn't know...As I was doing this a camera crew and an Asian reporter pointing the camera in my direction were setting up, I climbed the fence and watched as all the people around me wondered what the f*@k I was doing and were all probably thinking I was crazy or suicidal since it's a long drop back to the ground. I crawled through the bushes and got a great view of the guy below me and filmed him as he attended to his MOTORBIKE! Who the hell claiming a neck injury rides a motorbike! Safe to say even if I tried following this person I would lose him given he can go through the heavy traffic with ease and leave me fuming way behind. So I was kinda freaking out as I was so sure this person was going to look up and see me just chilling there filming him. But he didn't he was to preoccupied manoeuvring his bike out from others and then stalling it as he tried to leave. Was pretty funny actually. What was even funnier was when I was making my way back through the buses and the camera pointed in my direction with the reporter talking into the camera on the microphone, and then me jumping off the wall and a little kid going "WHOAH where'd she come from!" Ninja surprise for the week...check!
Client loved me. She was overly ecstatic about what I captured and advised me to return to the rehab chick and confirm my dude, and also informed me that I need to come back on a certain date to cover him again...but NOW she wants two investigators! Wish I had my motorbike licence, would be AWESOME to try and follow.
Back in the rehab place I provided what to these people was the best ending to a Friday afternoon ever! They actually even got excited, I guess to these people this is the coolest thing ever. To me it's exciting but just another day in the office, but it is enjoyable...especially when you get to be a Ninja.
Hope you all get to have a great weekend!
I'll be working! Cross fingers for cool weather!

The Ninth One
Well today I don't know about you guys.... BUT I got pretty personal with the cows.
Oh and goats!
I was hell country today! Besides the hot car, no shade, and awkward vantage point it was pretty sweet hearing the buzzing of tiny bugs compared to honking horns and annoying nosey neighbours. The place I had to help out another investigator today was situated on some very large acreage. The current investigator was having not much luck with the job and needed some help. Being a rural job you can't sit in their street...it's way to obvious! If you feel like getting made on a rural job then yeh sure go park in their street....otherwise you need to determine the best likely route an individual would take if they departed their residence and take a vantage point in that area. With this case there were two possibilities. However this works best when you have vehicle makes/models and registrations...Like I said the current investigator wasn't having much luck.
So it's 0530am it's dark, slightly warm (not so great, this means a very warm day in the car) and the cows and animals are starting to make noises. So I decide, hey I grew up on a farm, I can see at least see three different vehicle in the distance...I'll ninja my way in and give it a crack.
Let me tell you that as I found an opening on one of the paddocks, and sprinted to each tree that provided a lot of cover, my heart was racing. I thought my heart was going to beat out of my chest and I'd get caught for sure when I had to sprint at least 600 metres and expose myself until I could get to the closest tree that allowed me to zoom in on my camera to obtain all the details I needed. Once I reached the tree and got what I set out for I was pretty happy with myself, it's almost like you let your guard down and you suddenly realise...I have to run back now. I didn't even bother taking to the trees, I just ran what felt like the 2km back to the safety of my car. I actually managed to say sorry to the cows when I ran past, if any one saw me, I'm sure they would have gotten a great laugh out of it. The other investigator was seriously laughing a lot at my expense. But what I did definitely paid off, I got to do two vehicle follows! All before 9am! So bonus!
I love getting all the action instead of just sitting there waiting. The people I followed turned out to be someone much younger and some one else not even the correct sex. But hey we now know that the person we need quite possibly drives the 3rd vehicle so we know what to look out for now.
I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Years! My festive days were spent out working, and like I expected I got some great footage...ok serious question here...what's with bogans socialising out the front of their houses? It's like hey I'm not complaining cos it means I get great footage opportunities but it's a bit odd don't you think? We have back yards for a reason. But hey keep it up, cos filming you is quite a pleasure.
Oh! I finished that person off before Christmas, the one I previously mentioned was very surveillance aware and other people had been made before the even had a chance! And I full got great footage! Didn't get made at all! At first when this person left her house with what I'm assuming were her parents, she didn't seem to have a clue, and I gave her plenty of space as I followed her to all the different towns as she shopped for the countless Christmas presents. Was great! On the journey back, I managed to do a front follow and she remained 5 cars behind me all the way back to her house, I beat her home by only a few seconds and managed to park my car in the same vantage point before she drove into her street...then things got weird.
She drove over the top of me (i.e. came from behind me and over took) and then reverse parked her car in the same place it was before she departed, I was leaning so far back that I had to hold my camera up just to see...but then she drove off.
My stomach did a flip, and my head was telling me to "follow, follow, follow" but I didn't. I trusted my gut. And I'm glad I did because the next thing I know, she is driving back towards me. I crouched further down and didn't even want to risk looking up to see. I sneakily held up my camera, and watched as she again reverse parked in her usual spot. I think it was a ploy to see if I would follow her, so I'm glad I trusted my gut. Because she was again care free and carried countless boxes back into her residence! SO boo yah! Love life! Gotcha! haha!
Well, hope that this year brings you all great things! I'm off tomorrow to spend my day in a hallway! Wish me luck!

The Eighth One
I hate school holidays.
You'd think people would want to take their kids out and be active to keep them amused whilst they aren't in school from 9 till 3.
BUT NO!
It's like "oh yeh, stay at home, you sleep in whilst some of us had to wake up a 5AM to be here! don't even come outside for more than 10 minutes, let your kids be bored at home all day...BAD DAD!" haha but full serious, entertain your kids during school holidays, gimme heaps of ammunition and opportunities to film you. Ta.
Sucks even more when a really active claimant isn't active on the last day of surveillance, you are in two minds of calling it quits and coming back the next day but then you're all like...man seriously I'm sick of watching you, hurry up and do something.
Tomorrow is a big day for me, it's going to take me close to two hours from base to the location I need to conduct surveillance in. So great for kilometres and paid driving hours :) I just hope the person is active, it's apparently meant to rain, but I hope it doesn't stop the person from being active. I have to be out there for 10 hours...well that's how many hours they've given me, and I wanna hit this out in one day. Will report back on how I go.
So Christmas is 4 days away! Actually am going to work in the morning, hope to get some footage of someone being drunk. Will be CLASSIC! Plus it's what my client wants, so Christmas with a BBQ a nice day (hopefully, it's Sydney and it's been raining every day this week so far) and a beer in hand...hopefully one too many and BAM! Here's bunny getting you paralytic for my client! Will be sweeeetttt!
One thing I'm definitely not liking in this state during this festive season is the traffic! Seriously like where did all you people come from? Normally I can cruise along the M5 motorway for at least half an hour before I hit some minimal traffic, these days it's like not even 10 minutes! Taking main roads isn't any better either, swear my GPS is going to have a mental break down and instead of telling me to turn left on King Georges Road it's gonna say "look woman just turn around and go home I can't be effed giving you short cuts cos this shizz is everywhere". My GPS and I have a love-hate relationship...every now and then I even tell him that we might have to break up, but then he talks in his English accent and I'm like awww ok I can keep you a lil longer Mr Garmin.
Glad to see a lot of you are reading mu blog and now looking up Bloggies! Yes they have a time and date stamp, and they are seriously awesome! Light weight, small and amazing. Hopefully they'll make more Sony Bloggies with a swivel head but with a better zoom range....hmmmm "Dear Sony People...."
Loving this week actually am finishing a lot of cases, especially ones that have been out on hold for a while due to clients wishes etc.
This week is so far panning out to be awesome! Hope you are all having a great week and hope you all have a very merry christmas!
OH check out the pic below when I was doing a follow and had a few minutes whilst they ducked into the loo! Loved it! You see some pretty random stuff with my job:)

The Seventh one
Well the year is winding down and many of us are starting to relax and enjoy the festive season. This for me is pure gold! Whilst you're chillaxing with your beer and grub I'm filming you cooking that BBQ in the park...and you claim you can't leave your house pffft. Only down side to this gig is that the people who give us the work are winding down as well and taking breaks soooo less work, or even worse...NO communication. Communication is key when it comes to doing surveillance especially with the people who gave you the gig, they want a certain outcome so you need to communicate as much as possible and keep then constantly in the loop! Whilst this is necessary most of the time the client doesn't answer their phone or don't reply to emails...they make me hate life.
Dislike life very much at the moment right now, with a big work load it means I can't fly home for the holidays..one client even wants me to work Christmas Eve and boxing day...demanding much. My partner has gone back to his homeland for the holidays too, so our first chrissy isn't even spent together :( On a brighter note, just so I'm not alone these holidays I flew a family member up to hang with me. Which makes surveillance time go even quicker when you get to have endless fun conversations.
The weather in my location is helping make life easy, it's and Aussie summer and it's raining and cloudy! Love it! But no seriously sun if you are reading this, please stay away for just a little while longer.
OMG bought a new camera and I am in love! Seriously look up the old school Sony Bloggie, not the new version crap but the one with the swivel head. For all those investigators out there using a key chain camera...drop that crap aside and pick this up! Way easier to use, and you can actually see what you are filming and it is small and discreet. Why buy a fake camera phone, or pen or sunglasses when you can use this?! Ebay I'm fair sure is the only place you can still pick them up. So do yourself a favour and take a look.
I'm noticing that social network sites are my new best friend. Seriously with the new generation of telling ppl everything you are doing every minute of the day is like an invitation that says me "hey man so I'm making this easy for you, seriously, come find me" ...so cheers for that, keep up the good work! People these days are so free on giving up personal information, you'd be surprised what you can find once you start looking. The other day I found one claimant on YouTube! and I was like nice one! Cheers man you just made my job sooo much easier! I actually laughed when I watched it, since in it he contradicts EVERYTHING he was claiming, it was pure gold!
Well I hope if you are reading this that you have a Very Merry Christmas! Don't drink and drive...seriously it's bad. Get lots of prezzies, hug a lot of rellies and get fat on good food!
Enjoy the festive season ppl!

The Sixth One
Ok so I know what you are thinking.....
And it's probably something along the lines of "so this chick sits in a car pretty much all day everyday...do investigators get fat?"
The answer to that question is of course; some of us. Many investigators get comfortable and lazy sitting in their cars and find it all too easy to just go through the drive-thru of the nearest maccas...and since this is NSW we also have those terribly delightful Krispe Kremes....I assume most peoples worst enemy. However there are some of us (including myself just FYI) that make sure we don't consume too many carbs on the job and keep up a regular gym routine. Right now I am pretty much sore all over! I'm new to the gym but am so far enjoying it...especially since it is air conditioned!! Some people think that being able to work in a car all day means that I can run my air con....this is of course not the case, I'm not stupid. If I run my air con all day or even turn my engine on nosey neighbours get involved...and I do not want this. So instead I sit in a car, with the windows wound down a little bit and watch and wait. Believe me time feels like it drags when you start to sweat and cook inside your car. So going into a large air conditioned room is like a fresh of breath air.
You can probably tell from reading this that I am not going to enjoy summer...I will seriously hate life.
So we had a training day for Investigators sometime last week (obviously won't mention days or companies) but here's what I learnt;

So we had a training day for Investigators sometime last week (obviously won't mention days or companies) but here's what I learnt;
- What I do pretty much doesn't help in the long run.
- It only helps close or open cases for large clients
- Apparently communication is key
- In regards to the above point- they obviously need to tell this to their employees
- Communication on my end is constant...especially with a telephone message or email (never get replies)
- Mentos lollies are addictive
- Jelly beans make an awesome gift (you eat them through the boring lectures)
- I'm probs the only female under the age of 30 working for my company.
So as you can see I really didn't learn much, nothing applied to my "area" of work. What I did learn though is that I am so effing glad I do not work "factual Investigation" it seems like such a head case.
Well this sore investigator is signing off for an early night, lemme know what you have learnt this week :)

The Fifth One
Today, for lack of a better word...was weird.
I over slept...which is a massive "NO NO" so I seriously had to rush and double check I hadn't left base without the video camera (note to all investigators buy big loud alarm clocks). After a mad dash through lots of traffic I still managed to arrive on time (skills!)...but I guess before I start to say how good I felt, I was walking on level 1 in the WRONG hospital! Who in their right mind puts a public and a private hospital, named the same thing right next to each other?! Clearly I am still getting used to this state.
A mad dash later and I'm walking the halls of level 1 in the right hospital :) Then my phone rings....it's my client.
The claimant I am meant to spot hasn't turned up, yet. So client informs me I am able to go up and talk to the rehab providers and basically have a one on one chat in the claimant and what they are after.
So it's safe to say when you are in a doctors room when you are not there to get a check up it feels pretty weird, it's also weird discussing someone other than yourself to a doctor(slash)lady who provides rehabilitation. You actually even freak out when you are led to a small office where you sit and then dive under a chair when you see the guy you are meant to catch walking into the rehab suite. I felt pretty stupid after I realised it was two-way glass :) It is so weird being able to stand up and film and watch your claimant when you are no more that a metre away from their face! I was able to watch him as he sat staring at a computer screen, you can realise how boring this was so went down stairs and waited in the coffee shop whilst he "did his thing". An hour or so later and he was exiting the elevator on the ground floor. I was able to follow him to his car and get his rego number. Then going to my own car I departed...protocol after this is to genuinely return home with them and watch them go inside or quite possibly get up to something else. Me being the douche that I am and showing how completely unfamiliar I am with the area took the wrong exit and found myself having to drive for an extra 25km before I could even perform a U-Turn. I was seriously hating life.BUT I still managed to get to the claimants residence, and lucky for me he was home, and with the way I drive...well he wouldn't have had time to do much else besides leave and go home.
After that boring escapade I got to go to another hospital and await for a male worker to leave on his bicycle. They have given me a photo of the male, and have told me he exits on a certain street. This street however is quite possibly the busiest street in the suburb. So I hang around and sure enough my gut instincts were correct and I had absolutely no luck getting the male. I would love to know how clients get their information, because if it is collected from the claimants then they should know by now that they all lie.
Seriously if anyone claiming any sort of injury or injustice or anything, it works out better for you if you just tell the truth. If you lie, I'll catch you out and then you'll hate me...when really you should be hating yourself.
Anyway I'm side tracking here, I ended up going to his house and seeing if he had possibly all ready made it home. To double check I walked around his apartment block. This is when the nosey neighbours come out...except today it was quite possible his mum! She asked if I was lost or needed help, so me being the young believable female I am played the "frantic" card and pleaded to her if she had seen my lost dog...she hadn't of course but permitted me to keep looking around the complex. Fake tears for the win!
I left a short while later, I get the gut feeling that he doesn't live with his mum and just has it as his postal address...I'll catch him though.
Well ta-ta for now

The Fourth One
Days like these is when you genuinely like to do surveillance.
It's cool and grey in degrees and surroundings which in turn means that the vehicle you do surveillance in is nice and cool, or snuggly warm and you aren't dying from the heat, and if it rains, well you're undercover.
However, you seriously dislike days like today when you are OUTSIDE! In the CBD with lots of buses and walking people and the street you are in is like a freaking wind tunnel! It is so not cool! You end up sitting there freezing hoping the person you are meant to catch is quick and hurries up and goes home. Except that today that they decide oh we won't do a quick appointment, we'll do one that must last more than 2 hours! In essence, I now dislike you. I don't know you, but the fact that I'm sitting here all cold, wet and my hands are like ice blocks...I seriously dislike you.
And then the buses! Of course they had to have the appointment in the public transport hub...seriously what do people think when they book these appointments? "Oh I need to see what she looks like so I'll make the appointment in the CBD and in the busiest part"...this translates to the investigator "F**K my my life, why must you make this hard" Seriously if people wanted to get results they'd make any appointments people have to attend out in the suburbs. But as I have been told, and as I am learning...Clients have no idea what we do, or what we have to go through.
So today whilst you were either sitting in your home, curled up in bed or sitting at your desk...please spare a thought for all the investigators that were outside in the rain trying to catch your cheating spouse, the local thief or the people fraudulently using our tax money.
Thanks to the people who managed to keep my amused by sending an abundance of text messages. I seriously love technology, it makes life so much more interesting. Plus is helps me locate and find people, FYI Google is a very powerful tool for my trade. It's amazing how much you can find with just a simple search.
I also found myself focused so intently on the entrance to the building I had to cover that I didn't realise that I'd started dancing to "Moves like Jagger" which could be heard blearing from this random guys headphones, didn't realise till he took them off and said "can you hear that better?" he seemed so genuine I just smiled and said "That's ok". I was actually embarrassed at myself. I good friend of mine says that "life stops when you stop dancing" and I'd have to agree. For those people out there that don't like dance, slight toe tapping to your favourite song still counts!
Am stumped about where to start tomorrow...I think my Clients need to be spoken to, especially to clear up a fair amount of instructions...If you ever need someone to do surveillance for you, please give clear instructions :)
Well this Investigator needs to sign off and recharge the batteries

The Third One
So it's days like these you absolutely HATE life!
Ok maybe hate is a strong word...so I guess on days like these you seriously DISLIKE life :)
Your day starts at 4am when your alarm decides to go off after about an hour of sound sleep, the rest of the night of course spent trying to fall asleep. So you shower and get all your junk ready, tell the puppy she's cute and adorable and then head to work.
You're on the road at 5am or so and the motor way is all ready busy! You can't go 110km and hour because of how clogged it is and you end up driving at a snails pace most of the way.
You eventually get to where you need to go, and once you've finally found a decent vantage point you turn the ignition off and listen to the morning breakfast radio (this of course is the most memorable part of the day).
About an hour and 45 minutes later the person you are after FINALLY decides to show themselves (just after you thought you'd have a boring day) and they get into their car and pull away from the curb...you sneakily and most stealthily start to follow and thank the heavens that you actually get some action.
But you thanked them all too soon since you just got to the traffic lights at the main intersection and you have a truck blocking your access to the right lane and OF COURSE the person in front of you isn't an aussie and drives like a grandma so STOPS at the first of an orange light and the person you were following drives away.
So I seriously dislike the person in front of me and I curse like a donkey screaming from walking on hot coal and now I hate life! You conduct a mass search, try to hard to find them...buuutttt no such luck :( I am full devo at that point. Then I remember that hey I have more people to go watch...and you make a mental note to not allow people in front of you when conducting surveillance on this person....
Today was a very boring day. Tomorrow shall hopefully be a tad more interesting :)

The Second One
Finally met another female! She may be a student but she still counts! She seems cool, and will hopefully help her out with work once she has finished her study :)
Really hope I get to meet some NICE female investigators at the Christmas "do" at work in a couple of weeks, I emphasise the word "nice" since I have all ready learned that this is a back stabbing industry. Well not necessarily back stabbing but even though we investigators follow the dodgey people, but be careful what you say around other investigators...I'm the victim of a fellow investigator slipping a few words into what he thought was a genuine conversation with a female investigator whom works for the same company....now she doesn't like me because I guess I was given some opportunities she used to have and now if I ever work with her, I need to watch my back. Seriously if you ever consider this profession think carefully to what you're getting yourself in for. It isn't the usual office cat fights, it's a matter of fighting to keep your career and your good reputation.
On other news...I've started writing a book, nothing major, nothing too glitzy but it will be along the lines of Investigation in the fictional world. A story line where a girl gets wrapped up in the world of Investigation and find her self being threatened by an unknown source. Kinda hope to make it a series of books, based in Australia of course. Have so far written three chapters...I myself am not happy with it, but the select few who have read it so have (all 4 people) have liked it, so unless they are just being kind, it must be ok. Wouldn't know what to do after I finish it, guess I'll have to use Google to find that answer.
Received a text message from a friend today informing me he will be unreachable for a while since he's being posted to a ship, so if I want to reach him to try email :( kinda weird knowing that a friend will be out there somewhere and the only way to reach him in this technological world will be by email. Was really happy when I found out he was going to be posted in Sydney, was sad knowing he was going away now he's off shore. Guess I was glad knowing that a friend from my old life was going to be with me in my new one, now he's left, and all ties are back in Adelaide. I really miss my friends. They say you can't chose your family, but the truth is - you can.
Not looking forward to tomorrow...it's going to be a difficult job, it makes you hate life when you know the person you are watching is surveillance aware. Even more hiding in the shadows. Least I know I'm good at what I do, clients are starting to ask for me, so guess it's a sign I'm doing right by them :) Still nervous for December 2nd...the stuff they said they would send hasn't come through yet :(
Well that's enough for now
Will keep you posted

The First one.
Well guess this is how you start a blog :)
I love to write so all you sorry people who decide to read my random thoughts I manage to type out whilst coherent will be in for some fun times haha...or maybe not.
Well I've been working in NSW now as a Private Investigator for a little over 5 months now, people say that I should keep what I do for a living secret but if I'm honest...you wouldn't pick me out of a crowd, so why not risk it? What I do is interesting and it's different. Of course I will not indulge in any cases or locations of where I am currently working so those who are after all specific details, you may as well stop reading now.
So far I am the only female investigator that I know, I have heard of a few others but am yet to meet them personally, I have met perhaps 5 young male investigators all under the age of 30 but have met over a dozen of older male investigators. So if there are any lady PI's out there, please let yourself known to me, I would like to swap war stories :)
Life in NSW away from family and friends is a challenge, especially on my social life since I like to call myself a social butterfly. Alas my past time activities of catching up with friends has been reduced to spending time at home with my crazy puppy. She is cute, but very hyperactive. Hopefully social life will change after a friend from SA makes the move up and she and I can hit the town on the weekends and meet new people.
The people I have met have all been nice and genuine. The best one so far is my house mate, a fellow PI that was pretty much dumped on me when he first started, I had to "take him under my wing" which is what my boss made me do, glad he did tho cos he is just great :)
So far everything has been great, oh except for one thing...but with out going into too much detail...long distance relationships DON'T work! So word to the wise, try to avoid them! What sucked the most when I first moved up was the phone call I received at about 3am in the morning with my little sister calling me to announce she was engaged! I wish I could have been there to hug her and share the excitement, instead I got to sleep for another hour before getting up for work.
One thing that is not so cool about my work is the extremely early mornings...you can wave goodbye to a 6am sleep in :( but the work is worth it. Of course it is not what I want to do for the rest of my life but it's a stepping stone to what I want to achieve.
Well I reckon this is long enough, and you're all probs yawning from boredom...
Ciao for now
Bunny.
